The Mallification exhibition at Het Nieuwe Instituut was on display from 3 – 15 October 2017. It contained the film Die Schöpfer der Einkaufswelten (2001) by German filmmaker Harun Farocki, a reproduction of an original sketch for the Lijnbaan shopping centre in Rotterdam, and a photo by Thomas Nolf, taken at ‘shopping village’ Maasmechelen. It also displayed the book Enclosed Shopping Centers (1972), a developer’s manual for creating shopping malls.
